On October 22, 2005 Fujian province professional welder skill contest—“Songxia Cup”, directed by Fujian Province labor and social protecting bureau, undertaken by Xiamen labor and social protecting bureau, Xiamen City Labor Union and Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. together, open ceremony was hold at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.. The attendee were Mr. Lai Shiqing from Fujian Province labor and social protecting bureau, Vice chairman Mr. Chen Yonghong from Xiamen City Labor Union, Secretary Mr. ChenJianrong , etc. from Xiamen labor and social protecting bureau party committee; there are 10 teams and more than 100 players from nine cities (Putian, Longyan, Nanping, Sanming, Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., XSI). Mr. Lai Shiqing, Mr. Zhaohu and Mr. Chen Jianrong give their speech at the ceremony.

  This contest was hold according to the standard of senior worker, the content was divided by theoretic knowledge and practical operation, the test questions was chosen from national question stock. The players were from enterprise, other places and students of skill school, and require they have the certificate of more than junior grade. The contest item mainly divided into manual and CO2 welding. The winner of this contest will be prized provincial skill talent, and to be applied for national skill talent and provincial “Labor Day” prize; and the second to fifth winners can apply for Provincial skill talent, and get the grade promotion at the base of original grade; the player or getting 60 mark at theoretic and operation can get the senior grade.

  This welders contest is one of 20 skill contests in Fujian province, through which train lots of skillful and excellent worker, promoting enterprise worker development. This contest require: everybody should know the importance from strategic and core talent concept, from this contest encourage other worker to learn and study, carefully carry out the spirit of national talent working conference, competition in the contest, show the highly skill in the competition, improve the welding skill of Fujian Province, step forward to national technical level.

  XSI senior leaders give highly attention for this contest, preparing good place, equipment and relevant facility one month earlier, and send members to organize XSI team and join municipal team, we hope we can provide good opportunity and platform for our workers to show their skill and get improvement, high skill worker can be selected from this contest. After two days of welder theoretic and operation exam, XSI got the group silver award of this “Songxia Cup” contest; at the CO2 welding competition, XSI Mr. Wu Xiaofu got proxime accessit, Mr. Wu Lianding got fifth prize and Mr. Chen Liyu got sixth prize.
